The Ultimate Guide to Installing Render Beads

Installing render beads properly ensures clean edges, sharp corners, and a professional finish. Follow this easy guide to learn how to use ProBead render beads step by step.

Step 1: Gather Your Tools and Materials

Before you begin, make sure you have everything ready:

  • ProBead render beads
  • Render mix
  • Trowel, hawk, spirit level, tin snips
  • Safety equipment (gloves, goggles)

Step 2: Prepare the Surface

Ensure the wall is clean, dry, and free from debris. Measure and cut render beads to length using tin snips.

Step 3: Apply the Basecoat

Apply a thin layer of basecoat render to the wall where beads will be placed. Use your trowel to create a smooth surface.

Step 4: Fix the Render Beads

Press ProBead render beads into the wet basecoat and align them using a spirit level. Ensure they’re securely embedded.

Step 5: Apply the Render

Once the beads are in place, apply the render around them, ensuring the render overlaps bead edges slightly for a seamless look.

Step 6: Smooth and Finish

Use your trowel to smooth the render and create clean lines along the bead. Remove any excess render before it dries.

Step 7: Drying and Curing

Allow the render to dry fully before applying any topcoat or paint. Always follow product-specific curing times.

Step 8: Final Touches

After curing, inspect your work and apply any decorative finishes such as ProRend Colourtex.
